Big news in Europe: the Swiss have consitutionally banned new minarets.

I heard the story on NPR, and until then I had not realized that minarets are supported mostly by the political arm of Islam. There is some dispute among ardent Muslims about their use. I am proud of the Swiss. Those who pine for diversity may not realize that wolves are diverse among sheep.

I've been using medscape to keep abreast of medical news...for a while now. They're good. Anyway, here's the swine flu alert center. I ran across an article that mentioned Medscape as possibly a good stock investment, too.

The media is getting more excited about possible vaccine side effects, enough that Katie Couric did a two minute spot about it (see the Mercola link below). She puts "a human face" on it buy giving 2 second personal stories about a bunch of girls who were paralyzed or otherwise had problems after the vaccine. I find the media angle just as biased as the manufacturer's.
