This is a tough one for American hedonists to swallow....

Check out the pictures of rhesus monkeys on the last of the 6 pages.

People probably live longer by living up here too, becuase of less oxygen. The body is meant to live, not preserve. Screw longevity!

Interesting. I wonder if he has enough energy to exercise... I wonder if the restriction is based on what a person should have as a base intake, or what they should have factoring in their exercise.

For example: A woman does the 10% CR diet so therefore should consume 1620 calories (the base 1800 less 10%). That same day, she does vigorous exercise for two hours and burns 200 calories. Should she really have consumed 180 calories more (the 200 less 10%)?

He mentions that he would love to have another fifty pounds of mass on his body but isn't willing to risk beefing up by that much because he feels it would adversely affect his health. So my guess is that this plan doesn't relaly include a physical exercise routine. What do you think?

Well....I do believe that keeping a low insulin level helps the body to avoid arthritis, cardiovascular disease and cancer. And some of the skinny people I know are very high energy---so I don't know that having a very low body mass means you can't work out as hard. If you're bone & muscle only, you have less to haul around, and so it burns less calories to move it. So anyway, my suspicion about Mr Skinny is that if he moves at all, he's moving fast. I bet he gets plenty of exercise without calling it that. Just a hunch.

Yes - all of the runners I know are very thin people.
