I read Touching the Void by Joe Simpson in the last two days. It is a first person story of two young guys who climb a remote and dangerous pinnacle in the Peruvian Andes and get themselves in a pickle. It is a story of survival against all odds. Well written, it documents Joe's state of mind throughout the adventure. I recommend it. I watched the movie of the same name earlier in the week but the book is better. Always is. Actually the both of them go together pretty well, the book just goes deeper and is more factually accurate.
