Use of Electric Lights Correlates with Cancer Incidence

This article linked below gives me a new nudge to go to sleep when the sun goes down and get up when the sun comes up. It's only natural. For lighting at night, I like to use candles, which are not bright enough to interfere with melatonin production. And I have to keep reminding myself to turn off the blasted computer screen when the sun goes down.

Mercola points out (in link) that cancer incidence is directly related to longitude...folks near the equator don't get much cancer. He believes this is due to vitamin D levels. He discourages sunblock usage because many of the sunblocks available are toxic. Here's his take: http://v.mercola.com/blogs/public_blog/How-to-Reduce-Your-Risk-of-Cancer-By-50--8790.aspx

And here's a post about electric lighting and the relationship to cancer:

While it is sad for a bird to die, it is also the natural way of things for cats to hunt and to toy with their food. Shakti was looking at me as I closed the outside door, leaving her alone with her prize. Once inside I set to putting things away.

Iran

Last night I went to hear David Barsamian speak at NAU. Barsamian is the founder and director of Alternative Radio. His talk was a little scattered, but full of insights about Iran. Such as this: they are a terrible dreadful mortal threat to the US, right? That's what our propagandists are gearing up to convince us. But Barsamian pointed out that we are a much graver threat to them. We have them surrounded. We have aircraft carriers in the Persian Gulf to the south, and our military is swarming over Iraq to the west and Afganistan to the east. Iran has the finest oil left on the planet, and we intend to get it by hook or by crook.
